George and Elva Ann married April 15, 1906. They had 5 children.
John (Clark) b. 9/15/07 Marjorie Blanche b. 7/4/09 George(Richard) b. 1/7/15 Howard (Rex) 9/14/15 Evelyn b. 6/12/18 George Wickensimer was a successful farmer, husband, and father. He served as Mayor of Clarksburg and was active in the local politics. He was a great lover of sports and and strong supporter of the local Clarksburg high school teams and the Cleveland Browns. He died November 10, 1959 from complications associated with cancer.
Elva Ann Terry Wickensimer was a much loved Mother and Grandmother. She maintained a beautiful home, raised award winning roses, and made the best chicken and noodles in the world.
Elva died April 6, 1962.
Judge Evelyn Wickensimer Coffman relates that her parents were born-again believers in Christ as their Savior and made their profession of faith in the Clarksburg Methodist Church soon after marrying.
George and Elva attended church every Sunday with all five of their children. |
